Academics
Whole Child Education
Education is far more than academic standards. A whole child approach gives students the opportunity to develop as well rounded individuals; developing their mind, bodies, and souls. Whole Child education encompasses social emotional learning, physical education, identity development, and academic growth.
ELAR
English language arts lessons will follow a knowledge based curriculum. Students will develop comprehension skills while also building background knowledge. Students will have the opportunity to meaningfully engage in various interdisciplinary texts that will build their knowledge on a wide variety of topics. Educators will use science based reading strategies to provide reading and phonics instruction that will create lifelong readers and writers.
Math
Math will be hands-on as students develop concrete math skills which will become mental math strategies. Students will learn math through the use of manipulatives and real world applications.
Science
Texas science standards will drive project based learning units. Students will view the world like scientists by collaborating and problem solving.
Social Studies
Texas social studies standards will guide instruction to give students the opportunity to engage in the community around them and build historical knowledge.
Gospel Values
While we will not be explicitly using a Christian curriculum, we believe in Christ being a model for our daily living. We believe in seeing the world through the lens of the Gospel and letting it guide how we engage in the world around us.
